23 June 2009   This Thursday’s “Life in Kosovo” show discusses the findings of a report on the problems and the quality of studies at the University of Prishtina, UP.

Why are modern methods of teaching and assessment not implemented at UP? What is the amount of practical work that students of UP get to engage in? How many adequate books is the only public university of Kosovo supplied with? Are professors’ assessment methods objective? What are the relationships between professors and students at UP?
To discuss these and other issues related to the only public university of Kosovo, Jeta Xharra’s guests will be:

Nehat Mustafa, adviser to the Minister of Education;
Jonuz Salihaj, education expert;
Melinda Mula, senior programme development officer from Kosovo Educational Centre;
Avdullah Alija, director of the department for higher education at the Ministry of Education;
Adnan Dragaj, adviser to the Minister of Education;
Jehona Lushaku, assistant professor at University of Prishtina;
Enver Hasani, dean of the University of Prishtina;
Fatmire Tërdevci, BIRN project manager;
Isa Gacaferi, monitor in the Peja region;

Krenare Maloku, researcher and BIRN Kosovo program manager;
Faton Ademi, monitor in the regions of Mitrovica, Vushtrri and Skenderaj;

Meanwhile in the “Culture in Kosovo” report, Arif Muharremi brings a critique on the play “Death and the Maiden” directed by Fatos Berisha.
