01 April 2010 This Thursday, Life in Kosovo broadcasts an exclusive debate on the government reshuffle.
What is the purpose of the reshuffle? What are the reasons being given for replacing ministers? Are ministers being discharged based on their work? Will the newly appointed ministers perform better? Why hasn't the expected discharge of ministers for corruption happened?
The guests for the debate are:
Hajredin Kuçi, Deputy Prime Minister;
Edita Tahiri, from the Democratic Alternative of Kosovo, and a newly appointed Minister of Public Administration;
Valton Beqiri, now the former Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports;
Melihate Termkolli, from the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo;
Artan Haracia, journalist;
In the section Justice in Kosovo, researcher Isa Gacaferi analyses how accused persons are not being detained before their trial.
BIRN will also broadcast an investigative report from journalist Edona Musa, who explains how unlicensed pharmacies operate in Kosovo.
Climate Change
This December, representatives of around 192 countries gathered in Copenhagen, Denmark for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC) to forge agreement on a Protocol determining how to collectively combat climate change. This will replace the Kyoto Protocol which expires in 2012, and hopefully correct its shortcomings.
