16 July 2010 Tonight, Life in Kosovo broadcasts two debates: one on the law of Nongovernmental Organisations and another on the parliamentary debate about the spring session of the Assembly of Kosovo.
Why is the law on NGOs being altered? Was there pressure for these alterations? Who is requesting the transformation of the micro-financial NGOs? How will this transformation reflect on the donors? Are the changes to this law in accordance with European principles of the civil society sector?

In the second debate, the journalist Muhamet Hajrullahu asked deputies as well as representatives from civil society whether they thought the Assembly of Kosovo has fulfilled its obligations that it had agreed to at the beginning of this year.

During the debate, three reportages will be broadcast on the job of the Assembly. Journalist Alban Selimi asks the deputies and monitors of the Assembly of Kosovo whether they have fulfilled their obligations and how effective their institution has been. In another reportage, the journalist Alban Selimi asks the citizens what perception they have on how the deputies are doing their jobs.
BIRN also broadcasts a reportage from the journalist Edona Musa which talks about evaluations of the Kosova Democratic Institute, KDI, on the activities of the deputies during the July to December 2009 period.
To finish the show, journalist Petrit Kryeziu tells why the kindergarten “Yllka” in Prizren does not have a clear status and has a debt of 80,000 euro.
Climate Change
This December, representatives of around 192 countries gathered in Copenhagen, Denmark for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC) to forge agreement on a Protocol determining how to collectively combat climate change. This will replace the Kyoto Protocol which expires in 2012, and hopefully correct its shortcomings.
