Life in Kosovo discusses war crime reports

16 April 2009   This week, the Life in Kosovo debate show discussed the impact of journalists reporting on potential war crimes committed by the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).

How did Kosovo Albanians behave during the war? Was the war really clean? Did members of the KLA use their position as liberators to gain personal rewards?
Does society need to face up to war crimes? What are groups linked to these emerging allegations, and other war crimes, doing?

The panelists invited to discuss this issue were:

Rexhep Selimi, KLA veteran and KLA former general inspector;
Artan Mustafa, journalist at Express;
Altin Raxhimi, journalist at BIRN in Albania, and one of the founders of the TV programme Top Show.
Bexhet Shala, Council for the Protection of Human Rights and Liberties;
Shkelzen Gashi, human rights activist;

During our culture section, Arif Muharremi looked at the Pasion De Buena Vista concert which was held in Mitrovica.

At the end of the show, Kosovo’s Son-in-law broadcast his sketch about the night’s debate.
